The Search Window displays the results of a search. The file name and details are listed followed by the lines where matches have been found. The matches are highlighted by default as bold blue text and when a search window is active the status bar will indicate the total number of matches.
To view a file containing a match, you can use either the program's own internal viewer, the application such as a word processor that is associated with the particular file or your own chosen text editor. By using the internal viewer, the match selected will be immediately displayed in the viewing window. If your editor supports it, then Examine64 will let you direct your editor to the exact position of the match selected. If a filename is selected rather than a line containing a particular match, then the file will be displayed at its beginning.
You can save your search results to a file in a variety of formats including the program’s own format which lets you view your search at a later date. The contents of a search window can also be printed, and all or part of the listing can be copied to the clipboard.
